The RAV4 is an excellent buy in any generation. The 2022+ models have resolved the early transmission issues. The RAV4 Hybrid is the best value if you drive in the city — it gets 40+ MPG and costs only $1,000-$2,000 more than the gas version. For used buyers, the 2013-2018 generation is extremely reliable and has come down in price. Always get AWD models inspected for differential noise.
